Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College is located in the center of Zhengzhou, which is an important transportation hub of China railway, and the political, economic and cultural centers of Henan Province. The college is the Excellent College for the Work of Personnel Trainings among the first national vocational and technical colleges.
Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College was established in 1951. Approved by the Ministry of Education of China in 1999, Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College was founded to be the first independently established one in the national railway network through the merger of four schools: Zhengzhou Railway Mechanical School, Zhengzhou Railway Health School, Zhengzhou Railway Education School and Zhengzhou Railway Normal School. The college was put under Henan Provincial administration in 2005, now it is the province-administered vocational and technical college.
Over the past 50 years, the college is in the service of the reform and development of railway, and caters to the local economic construction. The college trains high practical skilled and managerial personnel nearly ten million for the national railway and the local economic construction. The college has awarded "National Vocational Technology Education Advanced Unity", "Provincial Civilized Units", "School of Provincial Civilized", "Provincial Vocational Technology Education Advanced Unity", "Model Vocational Technology Education of Henan Province", "National Vocational Technology College Employment, Star-level Model ", "The Top Ten Most Influential Vocational College of Henan Province" and so on. With honors, the college was named the Excellent College for the Work of Personnel Trainings among The First National Vocational and Technical Colleges. The college was named as Secretary-General of Personnel Trainings Level Assessment Committee of the Vocational and Technical Colleges in Henan Province, Committee Member of Personnel Trainings Level Assessment Committee of National Vocational and Technical Colleges, Director of National Steering Committee of Railway Locomotives, Deputy Director of National Steering Committee of Railway Power Supply, Chairman of Vocational and Technical Colleges Association of National Shortage of Personnel Trainings Project on Nursing, and Deputy Chairman of Rail Transit Committee of Vocational and Technical Education Institute of China.
