On June 4, Charles Mahela, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania, Zainabu Zuberi Massoro, Minister of the Embassy of Tanzania in China, and a delegation of 13 visited ZZRVTC to conduct in-depth exchanges on vocational education cooperation, talent cultivation models, and China-Africa educational exchanges. Secretary of the Party Committee Tian Daomin received the guests, Vice President Lu Yanqi presided over the meeting, and heads of relevant functional departments and secondary colleges attended.
Tian Daomin introduced the overall situation of ZZRVTC to the guests. He stated that Tanzania is an important country in the Belt and Road Initiative. Since 2019, ZZRVTC has signed agreements with the National Institute of Transport of Tanzania to jointly establish the China-Tanzania Zhan Tianyou Institute, developed vocational and curriculum standards for railway locomotive operation and maintenance engineers, launched "Chinese + Vocational Skills" teaching programs, and carried out professional skills training for the Tanzanian railway industry, making positive contributions to the inclusive development of the rail transit sector. He emphasized that the visit of the Tanzanian education delegation provides a new opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation, and he hopes both sides will establish a long-term and stable cooperative relationship to jointly cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents with international vision and innovative ability to meet the needs of the times.
Charles Mahela expressed his gratitude to the Chinese side for the warm reception. He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania more than 60 years ago, the Chinese people have given valuable support and assistance to Tanzania. Today, cooperation between the two countries has expanded from infrastructure construction and bilateral trade to people-to-people exchanges, cultural exchanges, and educational cooperation. At present, Tanzania is actively implementing the "Education and Training Policy (2023)" to improve the quality, accessibility, and relevance of education at all levels. Today's visit is a very important opportunity for exchange and learning, and he looks forward to both sides exploring practical cooperation solutions in curriculum development, digital education transformation, STEM education promotion, and improving graduates' employability.

After the meeting, Charles Mahela and his delegation visited the comprehensive rail transit training base and the innovation building training rooms at ZZRVTC.
