At the beginning of the new year, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ethiopia sent a letter of commendation to the Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway Operation and Maintenance Project Company and related partners, fully affirming and commending ZZRVTC for its positive contributions to supporting the safe operation of the Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway.
The letter pointed out that the Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway has successfully passed the buffer period of operation and maintenance handover, achieving multiple goals such as safe production, smooth flood season operation, and revenue growth. The Chinese team successfully completed two years of technical service and one year of warranty work, officially obtained the operation and maintenance performance certificate, and renewed the technical consulting service contract with the Ethiopian owner for the next five years, promoting China-Ethiopia railway cooperation into a new stage of marketization. The embassy extended warm congratulations on these achievements!
The letter especially emphasized that ZZRVTC, as one of the key units supporting the safe and sustainable operation of the railway, has fully leveraged its unique advantages in railway vocational education, talent cultivation, and technology promotion, providing solid support for the high-quality operation of the Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway. The embassy encouraged all relevant units to continue focusing on the central tasks, serving the overall situation, and carrying forward the proactive, collaborative, and win-win spirit of the Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway, to implement the consensus of the leaders of China and Ethiopia, help Ethiopia build a regional transportation hub, promote the coordinated development of infrastructure and industry, and contribute to building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
This commendation is a full recognition of ZZRVTC’s service to the Belt and Road Initiative, deepening international exchanges and cooperation, and promoting the going global of vocational education. The college will continue to leverage its professional and talent advantages, actively participate in China’s overseas railway construction projects, and contribute to enhancing the international influence of Chinese vocational education, serving international capacity cooperation and cultural exchanges.
